In the afternoon visit Thirsk, home to the World of James Herriot, North Yorkshire's multi award-winning visitor attraction and original home of All Creatures Great and Small. The museum celebrates the life and work of Alf Wight, the real James Herriot. Set inside his original 1940s home and surgery, the museum brings his world vividly to life with faithfully restored rooms, handson exhibits, and fascinating memorabilia from the books and TV series.
